Tratto
dal racconto "The Colour Out of Space" del maestro dell'horror H.P. Lovecraft, questo film è tutt'altro che
interessante. Piatto nella sceneggiatura e involontariamente comico, ben curato solo nelle 

riprese, è un
classico filmaccio anni '80. Unica nota di spicco: la scena della mucca piena di schifezze e insetti vari che si colloca
fra le scene splatter più rivoltanti della storia dei B-movie horror

 Il giovane Zachary Hayes vive con la sorellina Alice e la madre Frances nella

notte, durante una terribile tempesta, un meteorite si abbatte su campi degli Hayes, portando con
sé delle mutazioni genetiche irreversibili per l'intera comunità del Tennessee. Oltre alla confusione causata 

dai primi sintomi, c'è di mezzo anche uno speculatore edilizio che vorrebbe i terreni degli Hayes.
